Tower Press Tips & Tricks: Setting Up Files for Foil Printing

Foil printing is one of our most popular services for business cards and postcards. With so many colors and add-ons available, it's a great way to add some creative flair to your branding (and hellooooo did you see our new colors?). But also, what the heck are we talking about when we say we need separate foil files?
We know not everyone is a graphic designer, and sometimes setting up files for printing can be super confusing. This quick guide creates a visual for setting up files for foil printing properly.
Depending on how many sides you want your foil to print, we will either need 3 files, or 4 files: one file for both your front and back, and a file that notes what you want foil stamped.
Make sure the elements you want foil stamped are taken out of your front and back files completely. These need to be on separate files, and in 100% K (black).
Upload or email your files as hi-res PDFs, and the end result will be beautiful, premium quality foil stamped cards. We went with the holographic for ours!
